Playing blu ray through my pc to tv?

Question

i can connect my pc to my lcd tv via the hdmi lead and I can see my desktop on the tv. I then play a blu ray disc through pc and the error message comes up saying the supported device will not play protected.

Anyone any ideas.

Yeah you have a SLIGHT PROBLEM.....

You are playing your DVD in your computer....the HDCP (copyright protection) is ok with that part.....

But it really gets a hair in its Azz when it also reads another device connected to your computer and THINKS its going to pirate video...and that 3rd connection is your TV set....

It doesn't like it connected....So to protect the copyright of the DVD, it locks you out....

You have to either play it on your computer directly, or your TV directly or it will not play....

Seems like one of your devices MAY not be fully HDCP compliant.  You can try connecting it to your TV another way if able and see if it plays that way.  If so, that moreso confirms the above statement.
