I am playing in a tennis tournament today. What do I need to bring there when I sign in? Do I need any identification or do I need my USTA #, etc.

  1. It really depends what level tournament you are playing.  If it is a small tournment, you won't need to bring medical forms.  All you'll need to bring to a small tournament is yourself.

  2. When you sign in you sign a waver that says if you get injured on the tennis court they aren't liable for it and you need your USTA # after you sign it.  Although some tournament directors don't make you do that =] if you've signed up with  USTA then your name will be in the draw and the tournament director will know. Good luck in the tournament!

  3. They tell you to have your USTA card with you, but most of the one's i've played in just trust you, since you had to supply the number to get your name on the list anyhow.  I think I've only been to one or two that asked for the card (out of countless tournaments).

Other than that, you just need all your gear, and to get your mind prepared ahead of time.  There's a whole different mentality in local tournaments, and you can only get used to it by continuing to compete.
