Playing in conditions home-like conditions is added advantage for Pakistan reckons Aizaz Cheema – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aizaz-Cheema-c961, 32-year-old cricketer, believes Pakistan will have the upper hand in the Test series against England, scheduled to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month.
According to the speedster, conditions in the UAE are pretty much the same as those prevailing in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and having the experience of playing in such settings will work in favour of the Men in Green.
Cheema said, “Our experience of the conditions is more than theirs because there is not much difference in the tracks in Pakistan and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033.”
Pitches in the UAE are generally slower in nature. They are a paradise for batsmen, as they offer no extra pace and bounce for fast bowlers and the ball comes on to the bat nicely. But despite the odds
stacked against him, Cheema is confident of a good show in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
“Through my life I have played on similar pitches and I earned my place in the national side with the wickets I took on them,” said the bowler who made his international debut at the age of 31 in a Test
match against Zimbabwe in September 2011.
It is a common belief that in order to succeed on slower tracks a bowler needs to have express press. Cheema however, begs to differ and is determined to bowl in the right channels, enticing the batsmen
to make mistakes.
The Punjabi lad said, “I have pace but the main thing is being disciplined in my bowling. If I hit the right line and length it will be a problem for any batsman.”
When asked which batsman he will be targeting during the series, Cheema said, “I can't pick one name from the England line-up whom I am targeting because on the whole the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 side is a quality side.
I will try to dismiss whoever comes in.”
The three match Test series between England and Pakistan kicks-offs from Tuesday, January 17 with a game at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Test series will be followed by four ODI’s and three
Twenty20’s.
