I think I already know the answer to this question, but just want to seek some reassurance.

I am in the third week of a co-ed fall softball league and just found out I am pregnant. I signed up to play, not thinking we would get pregnant so quickly. I play in left field or second base typically. I am thinking softball is a no, but did anyone play while pregnant? The only way I could justify it is if I always playing in the outfield and have pinch runners. Even with those stipulations, I don't know if I can justify the cause. Any thoughts...

  1. Yes you can, it is not harmful, you can also run when you are pregnant if you were a runner before you got preg. If you are still not sure, give your doc a call and ask him.

  2. I wouldn't..Too risky.

  3. I played co-ed softball while I was about 6-7 weeks pregnant.  In my opinion, I wouldn't risk it.

I played right field (didn't see too much action there) and also had a pinch runner.  Nonetheless, during one at bat, I fouled the ball off my bat and the ball hit home plate, flew up and hit me near the inside of my thigh...no real impact, but that was enough for me!  I now just keep score for my team!

  4. I wouldnt if i was you, to risky.

  5. you will be ok to play. my cousin and her friend both played softball for the first couple of months of pregnancy. one of them had diabetes and was still ok. know your personal risks. that is important.

  6. I wouldn't..bad idea walking is ok but running might be risky.

  7. I personally wouldn't.  Especially if you're doing any running during the game as my Dr. told me walking is ok during pregnancy, but not running.  Definitely consult your Dr. and see what s/he says about it.

  8. I did, I played up until I was 4 months pregnant. I was a pitcher, but played in right field when I was pregnant.   I was just careful and usually had a pinch runner for me after I got to 1st base.
