  1. I have the saying, "some of us are queens, some of us are concubines." It goes along the same lines.

There are things I wish I could have done differently, hearts I'd like to fix, but life works out the way it does, regardless. But man, what I'd give for one trip in the Way-Back Machine!

  2. In this life, I am a proud and hairy and dark and stout and smelly Hindu man.  I never wonder how I would have been different in this particular life.  I want to be a gender less tree, a big tree in my next life.

  3. True, and learning to make lemonade out of lemons is a valuable skill for creating a happy life.

Occasionally it's fun to play "what if"  but I have definitely gained more satisfaction from making a conscious effort to be grateful for what I have.

  4. Right now I Love my life. growing up I hated it.  but my parents didn't kill me and that made me stronger and I think it will make me a better Mom to my daughter.

But now and then I wonder would I have turned out different if my parents loved me instead of abusing me, the answer is who knows. maybe i wouldn't have my daughter now. and I would be lost without her. I hope this makes sense I can never ever say what I want to say without it sounding stupid. but right now I would not change my life for anything. God Bless

  5. There's some things about us we can't change and we have to make the best with what we're given.  But there are some things we have control over in which we can "stack the deck" so to speak. We may not all have the greatest looks or personalities, but we must take advantage of opportunities that we can have control over.

  6. Deep indeed Gazz ! Now I realize why I suck at cards.

Seriously, I am happy with what I am/have.

  7. Sorry I don't contribute too much to the chat lol :P.

But you know, we can only be happy with ourselves.  I believe true confidence comes from being alright with yourself without having any physical or mental (drugs, alcohol) modifications.

Do I regret any of the cards, nope.  In my life, everything happens for a reason and it all falls into place :).

  8. The serenity prayer says it all.

"God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can,

and wisdom to know the difference."

  9. No...things are the way they are, why speculate?

  10. One thing that makes my life easier is not to worry about would've should've could'ves of life . I would have done this or should have done that and could have done something different . Also do not worry about things which you have no power to change ..........Peace

  11. hmmm very deep question today Gazz.

It is interesting to think about how differently our lives had been if that one tiny thing would have been different.

H3ll for all you know...one little thing could have happened and you could have been and American instead of and Englishman.  ; ]

edit: The chat has died down a bit. It got really full of people and crazy for awhile but I think at this moment everyone is out of it.

  12. Yeah - I've also wondered about the decisions I've made over the years. Like if I hadn't been married, what if I took that job, what if I'd moved, what if my b***s were bigger...

  13. Yes, I have.  But I can still pull a bluff with the hand I got.  I like the would like a more Texas Holdem, where everyone gets a few cards than shares the ones in the middle.  Maybe High-Low, where the worst loser gets a portion of the pot.  I like that.

  14. No I do not.  Because my life has been very rewarding and exciting, with a little bit of glamor thrown in.

  15. I think everyone may think of it here and there, but if you obsess about it you are going to have problems.

  16. I was thinking of how I would answer a question like this a few minutes ago.  Both my parents turned their backs on me; it doesn't really bother me, because I never belonged to them in the first place; had I really they would have never done what they did. The truth is when you cherish something you fight for it; they didn't so there you have it.  There's no use crying about it; what is, is what is.  <shrugs>  It's meant to be this way. <nods firmly>

  17. When i was young ; yes I did ask myself these questions ; but when you get older you understand that you had been put on earth to accomplished your destiny. Each of us has a plan to follow ; and you cannot past beside  because it            was on    your  blue print at birth and its O K with me . I would have like to be a doctor ; but it was not for me this time ; maybe when I come back [reincarnation ] I hope it will be in my blue print

  18. I don't think of life as a card playing game.

I see more life as a sail ship in a vast ocean.

Everyone start on a different point in the map. Some start in a S****y place and others on a nice place.

A combination of our decisions and the wind decides where the ship moves. Some times other people ships rams us and sometimes a storm makes the ship sink.

The only real control we have is to steer the ship. And depending on the weather (things we cannot control), our charts (education), Our courage and our diligence. Our ship can sail to calm waters or can sink into a maelstrom.

  19. I'm short.  I deal with that with the help of my trusty step ladder.
