I was wondering if I could play video games on a sony portable dvd player DVPFX810. Would this sort of set up work?

Female(F) Male(M)

I (end of single cable)

Sony Portable DVD Player(Audio in, Video in)I--A/V RCA cable(M)(red, white, yellow)I--IA/V RCA cable(F)(red, white, yellow)-- A/V RCA cable(F)(red, white, yellow)I--IA/V RCA cable(M)(red, white, yellow)Ivideo game console

(the male A/V RCA plugged into the sony dvd player's audio and video input came with the dvd player)

So basically, the question is, will a both Female ended rca A/V cable allow the Audio and video of the game to work on the portable sony dvd player screen if it is attached in between the male ended cable from the video game console and the male ended cable coming from the dvd player?

  1. Yes

Although why go through all that trouble when you could just plug your A/V cable into the A/V cable jacks on the portable DVD player. I do this all the time myslef as I am in a cramped dorm where the two tv's are not always wanted for video games.
