Playing with themselves at a young age?

When is it normal to catch your son and or daughter to be playing with themselves?

What do you tell them about it? Like not to do it or what

Its perfectly normal. Dont say anything to them just let them do it and not feel ashamed about it. It ushually starts around 12 really.

its perfectly natural for kids to play with themselves. even babies do that. it gives them an idea of their own body and how to feel good about that. so just let them play but if they start to play openly then you should say something about that. Say its normal and healthy but not for everyone to see.

normally about 11-12 I'd say. and don't say anything as i think it would embarrass them more

you leave them alone, its normal for kids to eventually figure themselves out, I would say in my house well with me and my husband we were probably around 10 or 11

lol , my son is 14 months old and every time we take his diaper off his hand goes there . we figure he just making sure it didnt go anywhere ..lol .  i was told this is normal as he just exploring .

It is always a normal thing. But, as a parent, it is up to you to tell them what is appropriate, and inappropriate.
