Playmakers in the NBA teams (Part 1)
Dallas Mavericks, Jason Kidd
Jason Kidd is one of the league’s veterans and in a few days time will be 38
years old. Though he is old considering the amount of young lot in the NBA currently, Jason Kidd is still regarded as one of the most talented and best point guards.
Age doesn’t seem to affect him as it does to some of the other players in the NBA and from the looks of it, he can continue for quite a while. Dallas Mavericks have come out strong in the league once again as they have over the past few seasons. Currently,
Dallas Mavericks are on road to win 50 games in the season for the 11th consecutive time. The defensive backup provided by Jason Kidd being a major part of their success.
When it comes to the numbers, then Jason Kidd is still up and running and strong. He has eighth in the league for assists per game and eleventh in the league for assist percentage. He has maintained and average of 37.6 assists per game and makes around 8.4
assists in a single game.
New York Knicks, Raymond Felton
Some might disagree on this as for them Staudemire is the main source of rival in the New York Knicks. But this isn’t the all, Raymond Felton contribution to the game and the energy he brings in the game can’t be neglected.
The offence of the New York Knicks has been fabulous thus far and is looking to get stronger as the season progresses. The role of a play maker can be said like that of fuel in the engine which is essential for the engine to run.
The same is the case for the New York Knicks; Amare Stoudemire is the engine that has loads of power but without any doubts, Raymond Felton is the fuel which is exactly what the New York Knicks needed. Rumors said that the New York Knicks were in host pursue
of signing New Orleans Hornets star Chris Paul but after the brilliant performances bagged by Raymond Felton, they don’t need to do that anymore.
Raymond Felton piles up 8.9 assists per game so far in the season maintaining a percentage of 36.1 and 2.6 assist to turnover ratio.
Washington Wizards, John Wall
John Wall is one of the rookies of the season and if Blake Griffin wouldn’t have been in the running, then John Wall would have most defiantly clinched the title for Rookie of the year already.
John Wall has emerged as one of the most diverse and an intelligent player in the game which has enabled him to stand in fifth position in the league when it comes to assists per game. The truly amazing thing about this is that he is ahead of players like
Jason Kidd and Russell Westbrook in his very first season in the NBA.
Many of the teams in the NBA are waiting for their young point guards to develop and follow the roads of Chris Paul. However, John Wall is creating his own roads and succeeded while moving ahead. John Wall makes around 9.2 assists per game, maintains an
assist percentage of 41.1 and has an average of 2.4 assist to turnover ratio.
