Russell Westbrook alongside Kevin Durant has come up with some splendid pieces of play which have on most occasions won the match for Oklahoma City Thunder. One of the toughest and skillful point guards in the league, Russell Westbrook comes up with huge
assists per game.
Turn overs are one area of his game that definitely needs to be improved. If this happens and he continues to grow, Westbrook may very well climb to the top and become the greatest point guard in the history of the franchise given the fact that he has a
lot of talent.
The quickness and burst of pace he offers in his game enable him to dominate most of his counterparts and sometimes leaves them stunned. Russell Westbrook is ninth in the list for most assist in a game and seventh in assists percentage. If we talk numerically,
then he makes around 8.4 assists in game and has an assist percentage of 42.6.
Being in one of the strong teams of the NBA and passing to the top scorer of the league in Kevin Durant further explains the type of play-maker he is and scoring regularly further adds up to his already diverse game.
New Orleans Hornets, Chris Paul
Chris Paul, without any doubt is the best point guards in the NBA today. A lot was expected from New Orleans Hornets at the start of the season.
Now you would want to know that did they meet the expectations? Well, they not only met expectations but went quite far ahead of them. The most amazing of which the Hornets winning against Oklahoma City Thunder which wasn’t expected.
The main reason for this is the fact that New Orleans Hornets have Chris Paul as their back who is able to support almost all the weight that is piled on him. Though Chris Paul was said to almost leave the Hornets but now things are totally different as
Chris Paul is here and it is likely that he would stay here for quite some time.
Though he hasn’t been able to come up with the performances that he is capable of but still the level of game that he has on offer definitely make him one of the strong players in the league.
Chris Paul is third in the list of assists per game with 9.6, third with assist percentage on 47.2 and first in the list of assists to turn-over ration with 4.3.
Phoenix Suns, Steve Nash
Steve Nash is without any doubt still the best playmaker. Phoenix Suns may seem strong but that is entirely due to the brilliant and consistent performances that Steve Nash comes up with. Steve Nash with his quickness and ability to go ahead two defenders
even if there is tiniest of spaces makes him an even important player for the Suns.
Steve Nash currently is second in the standings of most assists per game with 10.9 and amazingly first in assist percentage with 53.7. The impressive thing about this is that Phoenix Suns are in crisis and out of scoring players.
Still Nash comes up with these numbers and coupled with this is the fact that he is a few points shy of being the best scorer of the Phoenix Suns. The level of hard work and commitment that this player offers truly makes him one of the best in the league.
If he plays alongside players like those of Boston Celtics than these number might very well shoot up which make him the best and number one in the list of point guards/playmakers.
