Playoff Beard Question?

I am a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan. I recently had a Playoff beard until last night. I decided to shave it after the Pens beat the Wings 3-2. I thought it would be a good idea to "refresh" the series.

My co-workers have been making fun of me all day. They even said that I will cost the Pens the cup for shaving my beard a few days before the series is over.

Is this really a big deal? I know the playoff beard is just a tradition. Would you be angry at me as well?

I don't think its that big of a deal since you are just a fan, but since you started it i think you should of went all the way.

As a Red Wings fan I would just like to get on my knees and thank you for s******g over your team.  Just don't broadcast this anywhere else, you might be just as despised as that Cubs fan who interfered with that foul ball a couple years back.

Just kidding.  The playoff beard thing is just a tradition.  Some players do it out of superstition, others don't because 1)they can't grow a good beard or 2)they don't think a beard is going to help them win the Cup.

Don't worry.  You're not playing the game after all, leave the beard worries to the players.  Enjoy the finals.

if you're only going to do it until you need to feel "refreshed", then why do it at all.

you're either "all in", or "all out".

besides, game 3 WAS a pretty good refresher. momentum is coming back pitt's way. ever so slightly. case in point ... if you duplicate the same performance, then all this 120+ minutes of shutout talk was tomfoolery.

it's not about convenience. it's all about the cup. "the cup changes everything". lol. how's that for shameless party line marketing?

I can't believe you SOLD OUT and shaved.  You must eat t**d sandwitches or something to do that at a critical stage of the playoffs.  Your candy a$$ couldn't hold out for 9 more days max.  You are a bloody douche on a heavy flow day.  I admire your co-workers for razzing and belittling you.  I guess you work with some bad a$$es.  If I worked with you I would tie you down and glue pubes to your face.  Gary Roberts should take a cheese grater to your face until you bleed then your dog should pie on your face.  Way to sell out  Douche Bag Benedict Arnold.

Well I am a wings fan and have had my Playoff beard since The 1s round i will not shave until its over mine is thick two lol and iches but its tradition not to shave until its over.

Mike Modano shaved his beard after the Stars went down 2-0 to the Redwings, and they started winning.

I had my playoff beard all the way through until the Stars were eliminated  by the Wings. Much to the happiness of my wife.

I know we like to think these things make a difference, but in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter.

NO! u leave the beards to the players thats is too die hard its just for the players you didnt cost them anything in juniors and college they bleached their hair but when i unbleached my hair we lost our championship game

I wouldn't be angry at you. you had a good reason and thought it through. If you were a player than I'd be mad. But I like the idea of refreshing the playoffs but not the series. I don't want to see two more games like that until October, and even then...

i think it's cool if a fan shaves. i'd be disappointed if you were on the actual penguins team, though.
