  1. What you are looking to do is not really possible. By not really, I mean it can be done for much more effort and cost than it is worth. First, you need a means of decoding the audio signal from the toslink into Dolby Digital 5.1, i.e. a home theater receiver or a computer to hook it up to. The you have to run the receiver's sound into the speakers. If they are self- amplified speakers, you will have to run 5.1 rca audio outs on the receiver to the spakers via rca-3.5mm adapters. I they are nto self amplified, you will have to splice the headphone jacks and connect them to the speaker outputs of the receiver. You will be running a risk of blowing them since they are likely not designed to handle that kind of power. Bottom line- get a hoem theater receiver and speakers for $50 and up and avoid the hassle.
