Playstation 3 80 gig Price Drop?!?!?!?

Did Sony recently drop the price of the 80 gig to $399?????

Not exactly. The plan is that the existing 80 gig (4 USB ports, plays PS2 games) is going to be dropped completely, and the 40 gig is going to be upgraded so it has an 80 gig hard drive. The price will stay the same ($399).

That's another, new 80GB. The new one is the same 40GB (less USBs, no card reader, no PS2 games), but wuth 80GB HDD.

The price will stay the same ($399). So it's not actually the ps3 with the backwards compatibility it's just the regular ps3 that can only play ps3 games
