Playstation 3 - How can I download firmware 1.90?

Question

Okay, so I realise I am probably a little out of the loop, but I just read that you should be able to change the background of your ps3. I am not able to do that? maybe it is thatI am doing it wrong how do you go about doing it? Or is it possible that I never downloaded firmware 1.90? If so how would I get it? Thanks for the help

well,you have to have a internet connection

wow thats really old firmware the newest one right now is 2.42 you need to download that and you can do that right from the ps3 itself go to system update via online and it will update it for you hope i helped

If you have the latest firemware then you should be able to. If you want to change the background to a picture on your hdd, it is an option when you view the picture and press triangle.

Why 1.90? The latest is 2.42. If your PS3 isn't connected to internet - use your PC to download an update. Go to playstation's page (correspondinfg with PS3's region) and download it from there. For US PS3:
