Playstation 3 problem

Question

My husband is furious at the world because his precious playstation3 is not working. It will come on, sound like it's starting up then the red light will blink and it will shut itself off. Any of you technical wizards out there have any idea what's going on and if it can be fixed? Sony wants $150 up front just to look at it. Appreciate serious answers only. Thanks so much

aaah i know what happened you have to reset it and get the right light on it will not turn red it will probably turn green then after that hold down the power hope i helped

did your husband by insurance or a warranty with the ps3? insurance is sometimes offered by the company who sold it to you, if he does have insurance just take it back to where you bought it.

PS3 must have 10cm gap around it for proper ventilation. Try resetting it (hold power button on front till you hear beeps). But, to be honest with you, sounds like that PS3 must be fixed. Sorry...
