  1. Yes, of course.

    Even better somehow!

The optics's speed is more, The quality is better, The price is cheaper.

    What else do you want?

  2. sonny ps3 if you want the best of both worlds as a starnderd blue ray player wont play games and youll find its cheaper if your not into gaming look at pioneer wich has blueray coast around1999dollers model numberbdp-lx70may have come down in price if not you should be able to get 20 percent of the price hagle i hope iwas of some assistance

  3. The BEST Blu-ray player is the Pioneer Elite BDP-94HD (according to Consumer Reports -- this is the US version of the BDP-LX70) -- largely because of the high-end video processing built in -- but the PS3 at about $400 is a fraction of the $1000 US price, and the choice of many home theatre installers.

One advantage of the PS3 -- ignoring it's gaming ability -- is that it can be updated fvia firmware and has gone from a profile 1.0 to 1.1 player in recent months and is now profile 2.0 (The final step -- which adds Internet connectivity).

Many early adopter consumers -- who tend to be technically literate -- consider the PS3 the best player.

The quality of the video image from the PS3 is as good or better than most stand alone players ... certainly anything in the price range.

The only decision is whether you can accept the looks of the PS3 ... although some people simply hide it -- and remote control it -- rather than adding to their other equipment.
