Playstation 3 stolen..

no its not my PS3 that got stolen... thank god, lol

anyway, my brother's friend's PS3 got stolen... i told my bro to ask his friend for his gamertag so i could add him to my list and hopefully they will accept the request. if they do then we will call the police/sony to track down the IP address. another way, i dont know if it works but i said that if they still have the receipt, they could get the serial number? and we would tell sony to track it down? would that work? are there anything else that could be done to track down this PS3? thanks

That's bad news, man. How could he leave PS3 like that. I don't think you can track it now. Try telling Sony and contact the authorities, but... sorry, man.

believe it or not, the same thing happened to my ps2....well the stolen part.. not leaving it in an apartment lobby in queens.. but still...



anyways, the police arent even gonna bother to even solve the case because they usually dont investigate anything theft unless its over $600...were talkin cars.. big screen tvs.. they might just lt the case of a ps3 bein stolen go.



if u have the serial number, u need to report it to sony asap. also, if theres no wires with it, he needs to give the serial number to every game shop that wud take a trade in on a ps3 with no wires. the ps3 without the power cord is useless.. because u cant buy it anywhere.. if theres wires, chances are the thief may have kept it. he shud go to the landlord and the police and see if they will search ppls apartments on such short notice. he needs to act fast...and im sorry for his lost... i feel his pain

awwww that reeeeally sucks. i would use ip tracking, but a smart criminal wouldnt go online with it. hope he finds it.

How does a ps3 get stolen? Isn't in his house the whole time? Did someone break in?

Anyways, I heard something about the serial number but I'm not sure if you can track it. You just send the serial to sony or something and they record it. You can also report the ps3 serial number as missing around local game stores incase they need to repair it or they are trying to sell it.
