Playstation controller with a PS2?

I have a Sony DualShock controller/joypad that i used with my Playstation.

Will this work on a PS2?

I haven't got one to try

Yes it does, the PS2 supports most playstation 1 accesories and plays All PS1 games ( I have found out there are only 6 or around that number non-playable PS1 games on the PS2 and they are very unpopular games and can still be played on the PS2 only they sometimes freeze).
