  1. Apply for a coupon here

If you are in the US, after Feb 2009, you need a converter box to get digital TV off-the-air.

  2. When the TV stations switch to digital and shut off the analog transmitters you'll need either a TV with a digital tuner or you'll have to use a digital converter box.  The converter box is the cheaper way to go and will allow you to use your current analog TV.  With the coupon you should be able to purchase a converter box for about $20 to $40, depending on which one you buy.

The rabbit ears probably won't do a good job of receiving the digital signal.  You don't need an expensive "digital" antenna, but you will need a little better antenna than a set of rabbit ears.

  3. The broadcast media is going to change from analog to digital. If you do not subscribe to cable then you will have to purchase a digital to analog converter. The gov. has a rebate program to help offset the cost. The chane over takes place I think on 2/17/2009
