  1. The best Depression treatments are those that work. There is a wide variety of treatments for Depression and each has its own benefits and draw backs. Treatment of Depression is necessary because it is a serious illness. Without treatment it can only get worse not better.

    Psychotherapy (Depression Treatments)

This is also called counseling or talk therapy. Some approaches to it are Cognitive/Behavioral, Cognitive, Family Therapy, and psychodynamics. It can help take care of issues relating to sleep, eating, and wrong thinking. There are no known negative effects.

    Holistic Therapy (Depression Treatments)

The Holistic approach encompasses a variety of treatments. The goal of Holistic medicine is treat the whole person; mind, body, and spirit. Acupuncture, Aroma Therapy, and Chiropractic medicine are just a few of the treatments considered as Holistic. Spirituality or religious experiences can also benefit Depression. There are also no known negative issues with Holistic Therapy.

  2. I went through an unbelievably hard time a couple years ago. Although my problems were a bit different, I also internalized them. I've never been someone who talks to others about how I feel very openly, and I know it's hard. I used a lot of different techniques to ease my stress. One thing that surprisingly helped me was lavender. I would smell lavender whenever I started to feel sad or stressed. This wouldn't get rid of my stress instantly, of course, but it was soothing! And school is quite the opposite of soothing. Adding lavender oil to your bath water before you go to sleep will also ease your mind. But that's just a small suggestion. Another thing I did a lot of was watch movies. I got a netflix account and watched as many movies as I could to get my mind off of my depression. I wasn't chemically depressed, so I didn't use any medications, but if you are then you should talk to a doctor so they can help.

It sounds like your friend really screwed you over. Find a new group! It may seem impossible now, but there are trustworthy people in this world, and probably, in your school too. You just need to find them! There will probably be new people you don't know too well in your classes, don't be afraid to get to know them! And try not to let this ex friend ruin how trustworthy you are. It took a lot for me to recover after I had to deal with a person who lied and betrayed me. But believe me, there are people you can trust.

And about the Mom bit. I was exactly the same way. I didn't want to tell my mother about any of the problems I was going through. Eventually though, she figured it out. And when I overcame my depression and actually talked to her about it, she told me that she wished I had said something.

I sincerely wish you good luck! Keep your head up.
