Please, something freaky is happening with the lightning around the area where I live...

Question

The lightning is flashing all in one area, and it seems to be centered on a huge cloud...When it flashes at the center, some strange shapes form, and I could have sworn I saw a strange UFO shape there..Now Im not one to believe in aliens as in flying saucers...But I know what I saw...Whats happening?Plus, I see some ringlike shape around a cloud, and the lightning is going up, not down...

It sounds like a lot of Cloud-to-cloud, or intra-cloud lightning is taking place.  The strange shapes are probably cloud formations that are being lit up by the lightning flashes.

The reason it is centered in one area, is because it is probably an isolated storm cloud building up and will develop into a big storm later on.  Enjoy nature's light show.  I sure do!

Are you in NJ?  I saw it too.

There is nothing supernatural about it dude.  It's just lightning in a cloud.

did you watch war of the worlds? if not then that is realy freaky. there are no real suggestions to seeing aliens but if there is another storm go to that spot and try to get a picture of it

It's cloud to cloud lighting. I saw that happening a bunch of times also. Plus an UFO will look different then that trust me I know what UFOs look like.
