  1. Ybn el Halal

It is an expression used in a conversation while talking a person (man), Usually when you are trying to convince him instead of calling with his name you call him that.

It is actually the opposite of the meaning son of a gun!

When you add the "Y" to the Ibn el Halal, the sentence becomes directed to that person you are talking to.

But if you strip it from the Y, it becomes Ibn el Halal which could mean the son of a wealthy family but people NEVER use this sentence to describe someone with wealth because it is INCOMPLETE and doesn't make sense to!

The confusion here for non Arabic speakers is that every word here in this sentence , when standing alone has a different definition than what the context of this sentence is! Simply it is an expression used when talking to a man, usually when trying to convince him something. It also comes with little frustration!
