Please, who said this? "That which we do not break into conscienceness appears in our life as Fate."

Question

I know I must have read or heard this somewhere, but can't remember where. it's been in my dreams once a week for the past year. every time I wake up, I've been writing some of it down. another part of it is "We are meant to die, that's the one thing that makes us matter" This is a big puzzle to me.

I don't see anyone , I just hear this over and over again.
