I hope you can help. I am planning on migrating to Australia in the nxt 2 years, however I am looking for suggestions on where the best place would be to relocate.

I am moving from the UK, and I require a better quality of life. Somewhere where the climate is hot, the property market is reasonable, and basically somewhere I could start a family. I hope you can help?

Thanks in advance folks :)

  1. The climate is warm to hot everywhere except Tasmania. The property market is reasonable everywhere except Sydney and to a lesser extent Melbourne and Perth. There are beaches pretty much everywhere, so really there are plenty of places that would be good.

Nursing work is available everywhere, particularly away from the big cities. Maybe consider Adelaide, or one of the coastal towns and smaller cities. There are a lot of expats from the UK in Adelaide, and it is a very pleasant, fairly quiet but a little bit uninteresting city with lovely beaches, a very good sort of a place for a young family. The coastal towns will be quieter still, it depends on what you prefer.

  2. Golly, Australia is big, big, big!

You should narrow your possibilities/wishes because you could be in a big city or in the outback; in swamplands or desert, ocean or river, etc.

  3. you are a pommy ALL of Australia will be too hot for you in summer so pick a southern state so it is livable for you part of the year till you get used to the weather(2 to 10 years) then you will love it here

  4. what type of job do you do?

North Queensland.  Hot, Sunny and reasonable property.

  5. Cairns area. Housing affordable, weather very humid for about a month or two a year but rest of year beautiful.

Cairns Base Hospital has been in the UK actively recruiting for UK nurses so many staff would be from the old country giving some contact with your homeland.

The area is perfect to raise children as it is nature wonderland and has an outdoor lifestyle.  There is also a university campus for extended education options.

Cairns has an international airport giving easy access to Asia and Sydney.

Due to high level of tourism in the area for the great barrier reef the town is blessed with many restaurants and activities a town of similiar size would rarely have. So big city advantages in a small regional city.
