  1. You are working for the NPO?  One way you can try is to bring your board of directors into the process - they may know people who know people who can jump start this campaign.  Or maybe one or several will be willing to do a match challenge, i.e. for every 500 you raise from local and individual contributions, they match the amount.  It will help cut down your solicitation time, and the general public and corporate sponsors respond more generously when they know that the members of the board are actively and financially invovled in the campaign.  If your board doesn't care to contribute, then why should the public?  With only one month, you don't have a lot of options.  Getting the board fully engaged will be your best chance of success.

  2. The best fundraising is done locally. You need to identify local businesses, corporations, and individuals who care about the community you want to serve. You also should go to your local library, if you are in the USA, and ask for help identifying city, county and state grants you could apply for. But note that you won't be getting any money in a month -- fundraising takes much more time.

In your post here, you never said the name of your organization, what the focus of the organization is, where it is, what the buss would be for, nor a web site for more information. Instead, you expressed a desperation for funds. That's a bad approach to fundraising. It implies that your organization can't manage itself well.

Instead, always say the name of your organization, the focus of such, whom you serve, where you are, what results you can point to that show your organization is successful, what a bus would be used for and why it's needed, and a web site address with all of the above information in detail, as well as a budget that shows how much money you spent and received in your last fiscal year, and what budget you are operating under now.
