  1. Well, that really depends on where in Canada you go. Laws differ from Province to Province. The people rock, from coast to coast, that doesn't change.

  2. 10 months of winter and 2 months of "slush".

  3. ...10 months of winter and 2 months of "slush".

  4. It's hard to answer your question without knowing exactly what part of Canada you're moving to. Some major differences from the U.S. are, we have free health care and tighter gun control laws. Like in the States, people vary a lot by region and even from town to town. Big cities are very multi cultural. In general Canadians are a bit more conservative, as in kind of low key compared to Americans. Most Canadians are friendly and pretty open minded and tolerant.

  5. same as the u.s  just cover in sweet sweet maple syrup

  6. Wow! You ask a lot! The border between the U.S. and Canada is 5,525 miles across North America. That's a lot of different time zones and land types! Do you have any idea where you will end up? It would be easier to give you info on one place than on the entire country, except to say that ajida is right about the people rock no matter where.

If you are coming up from the States you  will want to know that the right to bear arms is not a part of our constitution. We have 2 official languages, English and French though you can get by with just English everywhere but Quebec.

If you are coming from the Northern US, the weather will not be noticeably different. If you are coming from the South, be prepared to buy winter clothing - pretend you are going to Detroit or Chicago - close enough! Unless you are going to Vancouver which is much warmer. They get an occasional bit of snow - entertainment on the news for those of us east of the Rockies when we watch them trying to drive in the snow. lol In Vancouver, it seldom lasts longer than a day or two.

The rules and laws for most things are similar to those of the States. Taxes on purchases - GST is federal and paid in all provinces. Provincial taxes vary according to the province you are in.

Just about anything you watch on tv there, you can get on tv here with cable or satellite. You'll love our money - it's pretty! :o)

When you are driving in Canada remember that we use the Metric system so if it says the limit is 100 km, that is not the same as 100 miles per hour. Do 60 miles per hour when you see that 100 km sign and you will be fine. You might want to make yourself a cheat sheet so you don't find yourself in traffic court. (see link below) Metric applies to weights and measures of all sorts. So remember we buy gas by the liter, not by the gallon. Same with milk - a liter of milk, not a quart of milk.

If the weatherman says it is going to be 25° tomorrow - don't get out your parka - that's warm and summery - the low 80's F.

Can't think of anything else at the moment.  Hope this helps!
