1. Actually, they have done some refitting in Seville in Recent(ish) years. It shouldn't be terribly difficult, but remember, they have cobblestone-like streets and sidewalks everywhere...It might be a bit rough on the person in the chair. If it's possible, I would think that electric might make things easier...

Fortunately, the most important monument in Seville, the Giralda tower, has no (or virtually no) stairs...It might be your best bet to ever get to the top of a Medieval church tower...very few have been retrofitted with elevators. Parque María Luisa will be easy to get around as well. If you haven't made lodging yet, you shouldn't have too difficult a time finding places that will accomodate. Again, not every place has been able to add elevators, but there are plenty of more modern places that have them, and lots of charming older places that have fitted up ground floor rooms. I hope you have fun in my favorite city!

  2. A manual wheelchair can be great because it is lightweight and easy to transport, but pushing it around can sometimes be a pain.

You might consider a foldable power chair or a travel scooter if you are going on vacation. Both of these devices are battery powered electric mobility vehicles.

The foldable power chair is only slightly bigger than a traditional manual wheelchair, but is electric powered and can travel up to 20 miles on a single charge.

A travel scooter is a motorized mobility scooter that can be taken apart into easy to manage pieces and driven indoors and out.

  3. Hi, fortunately for you, Seville has no steep streets but, on the other hand, here in Spain towns aren't too disabled-friendly so be ready to have some probs. On the dates you'll be travelling, it can still be quite hot, so that makes pushing a wheelchair a harder.

    regards from Spain
