Now People Told Me The Enclosure Would Be Huge & It Probaly Wouldnt Fit. Will It Fit If I Let Down The Back Seat & Put It In That Way Insted Of Opening The Trunk & Putting It In? I Bascially Want 3 FI.BL 15's Because Their Louder Deeper & Hit Lower Freq. Than 12's. I Dont Want To Get Rid Of The Back Seat Plus Because Its My Moms Car For Now Until I Turn 16 (Next Year).

How Much Will It Cost To Get A Ported Enclosure That Holds 3 15'' FI.BL's That Fits The Subs Specs (Each Have Seperate Chambers) Carpeted & Made Out Of 3/4 MDF. Costing (420 Max.)

FI.BL (BL15)

  2. Untill you turn 16 to have your own.......... you must use hard disks and computer speakers. They are light in weight , takes low space and with best output, it's portable too.

  3. Short answer, no you can't fit 3 Fi 15's in a ported box in that car. It could be done but you'd be looking at a wall, no way your going to be able to make a box with a large enough volume for them subs that will fit in that trunk.

Assuming you build a box that is the smallest they will work ok in, it's till going to be a 9 Cu/Ft box, not taking into account the ports. The ports themselves are going to be huge, they need to be to avoid port turbulence. To get the best performance out of them your going to want to build a box a lot bigger that 9 Cu/Ft, I've not done the calculations, but the recommended box size is 2.8 - 4 Cu/Ft per sub. Your going for SPL so your going to want to build a huge box, so going by the 4 Cu/Ft figure your looking at 12 Cu/Ft, and you still need to figure in your ports.

Now we are not even taking into account your power situation. The Fi's are listed at 1000W Rms, that's 3000W total. That looks like a pretty small car, which means it's got a pretty small alternator, which means your going to need to upgrade it. The stock alt will not be able to provide enough power to run the amp's your going to need to really get them sub's thumping, and no a cap is not going to solve your problem.

  4. Depending on the size of the trunk, why dont you just source out 3 free air 15" subs?  Good ones of course!  Your trunk then becomes the box and it then is so easy to mount, just one big sheet of MDF with 3 holes to accomodate the subs, easy to carpet as well.

You can modify your trunk to look really choice too by making some panelling around the sides and covering with vinyl and or carpet, amps can mount in a false floor or in the sides of trunk!  Be sure to cover all steel surfaces with some really good dynamat.

Be prepared to be gobsmacked!  So easy and you can do it mostly yourself if you're even remotely handy.
