ok so I tried out for a sports team right and i am honestly pretty good. So I tried out made the cut, this team was decided by the varsity head coach and this was for the freshman team. Ok so then we have this camp that I joined right then at the end of the camp the coach says if u didnt get ur packet or if u dont no if u made the team come here and i missed a few days so i thought ok i didnt get the packet. So I go up to the lady ( 4 ladies ran the coach the frosh/soft, jv, and another varsity and a former player from a year ago) So these girls are all white as can be sorry to sound racist with beach blond hair so i happen to be kinda darker i am greek and have brown hair. The lady tells me i didnt make the team and i said i was on it and she said srry. So I find out the list of team and it was like the sister of the former player a sister of a player on the team now, all of her friends, and this girl who is a lot wourse then me i have played club for 2 years and have also been on the best team for middle school for all three years. So I got this vibe she didnt like me and this school has been known for some racism. Do u think its cause of that and i feel really bad about and think i should switch schools ur opinion??????

  1. there are other clubs out there apart from the ones at school , school ones are usually rubbish

  2. I agree with Susieveghead. This is more likely favoritism.

  3. i think that before you do anything drastic like switching schools, you should either talk to the coaches or the principal. racism is wrong, but sometimes you have to get the other side of the story before you make any big decisions. you say you missed a couple days, so maybe that had something to do with the outcome? i cant assume anything. you should ask the coach for a minute of her time and say "i was just wondering if there was a specific reason i didnt make the team. did i do something wrong?" if you talk to her politely and dont sound accusatory, chances are she will explain her reasoning. if she brushes you off or says something racist, tell the principal right away.

  4. that's awful :(

  5. I dont really think there is much racism there as favoritism which is HUGE in high school

    so not the drama

switch schools if u think there is no favoritism there either, but since its high school i bet there is. Ah bias....

  6. Wow I feel bad for you, that is really mean, but anyway

Don’t think because you are Greek no one likes you It might be (like you said) that they are just bitchy. It sounds corny, but be proud for what you are and who you are. Don’t care about what they said and have self confidence.

or as my best friend says... TJJ or aka they're just jealous. The truth is there are going to be people in life who get in the way of what you want to do. You just have to accept it, accept yourself for who you are, and move on. That's really all you can do.And by doing that, you are proving to them you are a better person. I think you should also maybe tell your principal if you think in any way they can help you with this. But if they don't believe you, just forget it and move on. It's not worth having to give up on yourself just because of one stupid person who tried to put you down. By transferring schools, you are just telling your coach you are inferior to them .You don't want that do you? Good Luck with everything, and I hope everything works out for the best.

  7. It doesn't sound like racism, more of like favoritism.

The same issue happpened to me with cheerleading.

I used to cheer for this center, and it was like REALLY EASY to get into, so this one girl tried out, and didnt make it.  she was like completely embaressed cause she was the only one.

And than i try out for my schools team, and she makes it and i dont.  and she just so happens to be bestfriends with the coaches daughter. :/

  8. It sounds like they are picking their friends and people who they like better over people who can actually play the game better. You could make complaints but then the players on the team may be mean to you on purpose try to be anonoymous  but you have the right to stand up for yourself. Dont let them hold you back from doing something you enjoy and know your good at go where your talent will shine.

  9. Don't change school just for that try and talk to someone hire up its not racism.but its not right.good luck

  10. Its not a racism but its more of NEPOTISM
