I'm a 14 year old boy. I was born in India but left India and lived in Ireland from the age of 4-10. The main sport I played here is cricket with other indians who had moved to ireland too. Then I moved to France where no one played cricket much so I played a bit of Tennis and Football. Now I have moved back to India and I can't play cricket, football or tennis as well as others. Near my house, there are boys (14-20 years old) who play cricket but they are too good for me and I can barely hit the ball. There are also a group of boys (5-10 years old) but I don't want to play with little children. Sometimes a few kids play football but not often. I'm not really that athletic anyway but I was at cricket but got worse because I didn't play for 4 years. I had the same problem in France where everyone was better than me at football because I hadn't played much before. Please give me some advice on what to do.

PLEASE!

  1. Hi I understand your problem the only solution for this is practice.I know it is not easy to concentrate on all the games but atleast give more concentration on one game atleast. This does not mean you can leave the other ones keep them also in touch.

  2. honey! relax! its ok!

all u have to do is practise!

    practise makes it prefest rit?

x worry, put ur pride and shyness aside and trust me it will work brilliantly..............

    trust urself and have faith.ok?

  3. practice again.i am sure you will start playing cricket .remember practice makes a man perfect.

  4. Relax and don't worry.

Study hard and play sports as hobby, not as career.

    Good luck.

  5. There is nothing to worry you only need practice.

  6. getting pro help is your best bet. there are a lot of summer cricket camps. go to one.

  7. Its all about confidence. You should go out and play with all of them. You may fail a few times but once you get used to it you will feel much better. After all practice makes perfect. I am sure you will do much better than many of them if not all.

  8. The first thing is to be confident that you can improve and not be discrouaged.

The best way to improve is to play with those who are better than you. Learn from them, this includes watching players on TV, the proffesionals, watch how they move, in particular, watch how they ANTICIPATE the play.

Anticpation is a key skill. You have to anticipate, the bowler, the batsmen, the footballers next pass etc. you will only get this through practice and play with others.

If you don't feel up to this yet you should try and devlop some basic skills. Maybe find a few freinds who you can train with?

    For soccer:

by yourself you can practice juggling, if you can find a brick wall or somewhere to kick a ball up against kick the ball against it practice trapping and controlling the ball. Kick the ball harder and harder using both feet and trap the ball bringing it under control quickly.

for cricket, bowling is a skill you can practice yourself but is better practiced with a freind. You should focus on your accuracy before trying to master some variations depending on your style.

for batting, use that same brick wall and practice driving. It's nto very holistic, but its a good start, as you hit the ball hard and harder your reflexes will sharpen up.

The main thing is to not be discouraged and be happy when you play with these guys that are more skilled than you.  This is the best way to improve. Push yourself and realise that everytime you play, you also learn something. Good luck!

  9. try joining an academy   for   cricket ,football  or tennis

It is easier to get cricket and tennis coaching in India in most places  for boys of your age.,football,I don't know

If you join a cricket academy,I think you will play  better than the

    other boys in ur locality
