I wanna move to another state so i can better me education. I can't seem to get a job around here and i don't really know why. each job that i apply seems more promising yet i still don't have any money (and if i don't move out of my parents house i'm gonna explode.) please, i really think i'm gonna need a grant and then i can get a job in the state i wanna move to because of it's better job market. I don't know what to do, i don't wanna end up like my cousin and living at home till he turned 25. i think 19 is my cut off point, i turn 20 soon so i'll settle for 20 as long as i get out of here. plz do you know of any education grants that i could apply for?

  1. To apply for federal grants you need to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  This one application will be used to see if you are eligible for federal and state grants as well as student loans.  Depending on the school you will be attending some of your awards may be different with each school.

Since you are planning on moving to a different state to go to school you may want to look into community colleges until you can declare residency for that state.  Non-resident tuition can be extremely hard on the finances and community colleges are cheaper.

When completing the FAFSA you will need to make sure you have your financial information for both you and your parents.  Unfortunately until you turn 24 or fall into some other categories you will be considered a dependent under your parents information.

I hope this helps!  Don't let the web pages and federal lingo get to you.  It can be a bear but the payoff at the end of the tunnel is definitely worth it!

To complete the FAFSA go to:

    http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

  2. You can try to go to

    http://all-about-scholarship.com

    it's about scholarships/grants information.

    Good luck

  3. go to free grants.gov.  that should be able to help you..

  4. http://fafsa.ed.gov

Be aware if you move out of state you will be charged about 1000 times more in tuition for the entire time you are there.  Stay in state and save some bucks.
