My 4 week old kitten won't stop crying. I have fed her, she's used the restroom... I don't know what's wrong with her. She continues to cry and I think maybe she's still hungry? But seriously, if you were to make a fist, that's how big her stomach is. Why is she crying?

  1. Bring her to a vet for a full check up. My kitten had roundworms and coccidia at 5 weeks old. How long have you had her? Is her mommy cat with her? She could also miss her mommy kitty and litter mates too. But a full check up would be high on my list. The vet should ask you to bring in a stool sample with you. Is her stool soft or runny? Need more info.

  2. Is she away from her mom? Because she is really young for that.Try a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel.Just good and warm not hot.Try a clock that ticks near where she sleeps.Good luck with your new baby!

  3. Take the kitten to the vet. If her abdomen is that distended, she doesn't need more food, she needs to see a vet.

  4. Distended stomach or potbelly is a sure sign of worms.  Untreated, this can kill the kitten.  All kittens have them, you can get this taken care of at the vet or go get an over-the-counter dewormer at a pet store.

It can make a kitten cry because it causes discomfort varying from mild to extreme, and possibly can even be causing her pain.

  5. Kitten are supposed to be 6 weeks before they are taken from their Mama's so maybe that's it.

  6. She may have parasites or maybe just misses her littermates.

  7. I HAVE ALWAYS GOTTEN TWO KITTENS, SO TWO CATS HAVE TO DIE OF OLD AGE ..............BEFORE I ADOPT AGAIN......

ADOPTING TWO KITTENS HELP THEM GREATLY. MAIZEY AND BEAST SLEEP AND PLAY TOGETHER.

I HAVE FOUND THEM TO BE LESS FEARFUL.

THINK ABOUT HAVING ANOTHER BROTHER OR SISTER FOR THIS KITTEN AND I THINK THINGS WILL GO BETTER.

  8. If you're feeding it milk, that will cause this; also worms.  You don't mention if you took it to a vet yet.  That's the FIRST thing I would have done before anything.  Get it to a vet to get checked out and get your answer.

  9. I would definitely check for worms, as if she has them her stomach will be distended (which cant be comfortable) and she will still feel hungry a lot of times because the worms will be taking the food/nutrients that she needs.

And 4 weeks is really little for a kitten. She might just miss her mom/siblings.

  10. She's probably lonely. Was she orphaned? Usually kittens are much older when they leave their moms. Try holding her really close and secure on your lap and try giving her a bottle (not like a kid-bottle; a cat bottle)

If nothing helps, I'd call your vet. She might be in pain.
