  1. you could use the quadratic formula to solve and get two possible answers for x.

    x= -3+2 root 3 or -3-2 root 3

  2. the problem is telling you to solve for x when y=0

    to do this you must factor

    for ex. (x-2) to solve for x set this equal to zero  x-2=0 x=2

    however you cannot  factor for your problem so you must use the quadratic formula

  3. It's quadratic formula x = -b ± √ (b² - 4ac) all over 2a

  4. 100:)

    easy ..:)

  5. use the quadratic equation.

  6. use the quadratic formula

  7. it just means that you have to solve for x.

    use quadratic equation.

    a= 1   b = 6   c=-3

    -b (plus or minus) square root of [b^2- 4ac] all divided by 2a.

    so it would be -6 (+or -) squareroot of [6^2 -4(1)(-3) / 2(1)

    -6 (+or -) square root of 48 /[all divided by 2]

    so x=22 or 27
