I am SO AFRAID OF ROLLER COASTERS!!! I hate the feeling when you drop. That 0 gravity tingly pressure feeling. I am going to kings dominion this sunday and I REALLY want to ride the Dominator, Which opened May 24th 2008. Im not the type that can just go on a roller coaster to get it over with. I have panic attacks and sweat and get really scared. Everyone says "Go on the biggest one!" I CAN't HANDLE THAT!

Please Please help!!!

  1. They are AWESOME! just get over it. Face your fears. You have gotta try it at least once. If you really hate it and are scared to get on one than just don't. If you are embarrased than just say that you can't see the fun in riding a roller coaster

Take some sort of motion sickness pill before you get on the ride.

  2. Start by going on with a friend that is always there for you and then you can ride a a small ride and then work your way up. Believe me it works! I've had the same problem before! ;) Hope this helps you!

  3. First, don't talk about how scared you are while waiting in line.  Don't watch the ride either or that will just freak you out.  I'd do it first, so you don't have too much time to think about it.  Don't eat or drink before you get on the ride.  Don't want to chance anything!

Sit in the middle seat in the middle of the train of cars (or whatever they are called).  Sitting in the middle, you won't see too much, so that really helps.  You don't want the first row or the last row.  The first you see too much, and the last row you really get moved around.

When you are going up, try to talk to the people sitting next to you about anything other than the ride you are on.  You will know when you reach the top.  On the way down, close your eyes, and breathe slowly out.  You want to try to count to 20 while exhaling.  Not only does that help with the whole stomach thing, it helps you focus on something you can control.  That should get you to the bottom of that first hill which is the worst.  Once you have gotten to the bottom of the first hill, open your eyes and enjoy the ride!   Really, it is an awesome experience to ride with your eyes open.

If you get up there and want to back out, tell yourself that you waited all that time in line, you are riding this thing.  You will be really proud of yourself once you get off of it.

  4. ok i know what you mean i had that feeling to. im gonna tell you what my friends did to me. you can do this any order you want. go on a tea cup ride so you get used to the fast motion, you dont have to spin if you dont want. then go to the car rides so you get used to all the moving places. then if the park has one, go on the droping rides where you just go up then drop. (i perfer the rides where it drops a little then brings you up then drops you again.)

  5. well, wat i do i just close my eyes till it is over.  just go on one of the kid coasters.  then you can relax.  oh, & go 2 the bath room first.  so u won't pee ur pants.  there is this one ride that is more worse than that.  it swings around and u go upside down! imagine that!

P.S.  bring a bag.  incase u puke.  just telling u. lol

  6. Start small, and go with a friend who will understand you and not make fun of your fears.  Go to the kiddie area and ride there if they will let you.  Then work your way up.  It's nothing to be ashamed of - roller coaster designers work hard at making their coasters faster, higher, and loopier than the last one.

And when you've had enough, stop.  Go to the water park instead, if the weather is good (and they have one there).  Or try the ferris wheel, or ride the bumper cars.  You are going to have fun, not to give yourself a panic attack.
