  1. Honey, if you want to convince people that you are legit, you have to give them an objective, independent way to verify that.  Just giving us your promise doesn't help - YOU know you're honest, but as far as anyone else knows, you could be a greedy adult pretending to be a student.

So instead of giving out your email address (which just puts you at risk for spam and pedophiles), give the website of the school or program that is organizing the fundraiser.  Also, tell us something specific about the child in need - what disease do they have?  what is their wish?  how can we send money?

There are LOTS of ways you can raise money - bake sales, car washes, candy sales.

A really effective trick is to ask local businesses to offer a "matching gift" - the business will donate the same amount of money that you raise elsewhere, up to a certain amount.  This inspires people to donate more, because they know they are helping you to raise twice as much money.  The business is happy to do it because it's free advertising to them - all these potential customers hear the company's name and how generous they are.

    Good luck!

  2. Hi Pookie -

That is a great thing for your school to be doing.

You should go up to the "Search for Questions" section and type in fundraising. You will see that this kind of question has been asked thousands of times, and a lot of great ideas for raising money have been offered. You can get some ideas from there for your project.
