My 6 year old has had a loose tooth for 3 weeks now. accually he has 2 one is just looser than the other. The looser one has another tooth growing behind it.

Should I try to pull it myself: If so how?

Should I take him to the denist?

Should I till just let it be?

  1. If its hurting him then you can take him to the dentist or pull it out, but if its not you can just let it be.

i had the same thing when i was little where the tooth grew behind the other instead of under, and i did have to get it pulled out by a dentist, but thats just cause i wouldnt do it myself.

He should be fine, but if its hurting him and you take him to the denist theyll probably pull it out

  2. Give him/her a popcicle, first bite it will come out. worked with my son

  3. Just let it be. It will be fine there is no use in going to the denist spending a bunch of money on that. its perfectly normal just have them twist it a little bit. its sure to come out though and can be painful.

  4. Well, if it's not causing him any pain, then let him decide if he wants you to pull it out or not. If he does, just get a wet washcloth or a paper towel and try slowly pushing it back and forth. Twisting it works well too. Just make sure it's not hurting him.

  5. For the next 24 hours, get him to try and wiggle it out. Go ahead and schedule a dentist appointment for Wednesday in case he can't get it out. Sometimes they just don't want to let go. I'd get it out now before it messes up the new tooth that is growing in.

  6. Pull it out. Get a wash cloth and put some warm water on it. Then put the wash cloth on the tooth and just pull. It should work. If there is still complications then you should take him to the dentist.

  7. This is not a big issue unless it's causing the child pain. Ask your son if he wants you to pull it out. If not, just wait it out. Did you tell him he could get cash from the Tooth Fairy for that tooth? That normally helps out the process. If he swallows it in his sleep, again it's no big deal. Maybe get him to eat an apple, I've used that one with both of my girls. It will not be there much longer either way.

  8. all of those are options. you can pull it out, you can take him to the dentist or you can let it be. it will fall out eventually.

  9. Hold a ice cube on it, and let it numb a little.  I would assume at this age it is in the front?  Then put a little rag on it and give it a good wiggle.  A sign it is ready to come is you will see blood when you start to wiggle and pull.

Another trick is to put some ambesol or ora jel on it and twist and pull.  Sometimes my daughter gives me a hard time, and she gets a little scared, so we just make sure we have a bag to put it in for the tooth fairy.  (if you do that) and she seems to concentrate more on that then the pain of having it come out.

  10. The same thing happened with my oldest daughter. I called the dentist and he said to tie a piece of dental floss about 20 inches long around it and just yank. It popped right and and my daughter has never had a problem getting them out since. She wants to do it on her own. If this doesn't work make an appointment.
