1) you can give the example of Tithonus (Greek Mythology) who although had immortality, grew older every day...

If you want immortality, wish for eternal youth which is practically impossible...So greater life expectancy come with ageing/ loss of youth, problems associated to the same

2) It is better to be reborn and get closer to attaining salvation rather than rotting and getting old
