A 15.0- resistor and a 20.0- resistor are connected in a parallel. A 5.00- resistor is connected across a 1.00 10^-2V battery. What is the current flowing through the 20.0- resistor?

b. 3.15 A

c. 5.00 A

d. 6.84 A

  2. Not only have you failed to make clear how the resistors are connected, but you also have the incorrect voltage for the battery. Keep in mind the old axiom about KISS (keep it simple, stupid). If you can use integers, do so. There is no need for artificial levels of precision.

  3. e. Zero amperes, because you didn't mention any connection between the 20 ohm resistor and the battery.

    The current through the 15 ohm resistor is also zero for the same reason.

    Since the only connection to the battery is 5 ohms, 0.01 volts divided by 5 ohms = 500 amperes: a very unrealistic number.

    My guess is part of the question is missing: How are the 15 and 20 ohm resistors connected to the 5 ohm resistor?
