how do i tell if the stray cats around my grandmas house has fleas or ticks?

if they are strays, they have fleas.

if you can pet them, you will see them run when you scratch the top of the head, between the eyes, or under the chin. if they are really infested, you will see them on the belly.

Most stray cats you'll find that they have tick or mostly flees a sign is if they scratch alot though

If they're itching at themselves a lot, this could be a sign. If the cat has white fur, you could look for black dots on her fur, this will indicate ticks or fleas. I don't know how comfortable you are with it, but you could try taking it to a vet or shelter to get it checked out. Best of luck :)

if you see them scratch a whole lot, and if they are light in color you can sometimes see the fleas if you look.

don't go near them. they most likely have fleas but parasitic insects aside, you don't know if they have any diseases that could make you sick. it's one thing if you're gonna trap them and bring them to a no-kill shelter or to a vet to get them fixed and shots but be careful around strays!!

They more than likely do have fleas, in this hot weather. Are they scratching a lot?
