Ok so all I know is that I own a compaq. On the monitor it has the number 7600 if that's any help. And it also says compaq presario. This computer is a piece of ****. Legit. It freezes on me and omg..........

Ok What I'm trying to ask is, why is it doing this? I have AIM instant messaging. And also...limewire...itunes....but why? I also have an antivirus defender pro and it keeps telling me the computer has no virus? Then why is it doing this to me? I fell like punching this d**n computer. Is it my internet connection. And if it is should I get verizon dsl or something? Please only serious answer. Even typing this it froze and gave me all kinds of ****.

Your answer is a little more complex but to be short.

1 - your pc is slow

2 - try turning off the anti-virus and see how much faster it is. (Probably a lot faster)

3 - You might have spyware, goto www.trendmicro.com and use the free online housecall to scan for viruses. Also download ad-aware free version and see if you can get spyware out of there.

4 - buy a faster computer

It sounds like you have something running in the background. Adware or virus activity.

How much RAM do you have? When you are working on your PC does the HDD light flash and your HD work alot? If so this is called "Disk Thrashing" and usually indicates a need for more RAM. Your PC is older and outdated so a faster PC would help.

Limewire could be the problem also downloading iTunes and such requires CPU Cycles, as does AIM.

Run Scandisk and Defrag weekly. Update and run your Virus Scan and Spybot weekly.
