Please; Princess Cruise ship laundry question...?

We are sailing Sept 20 for a 19 day Panama Canal cruise aboard the Island Princess. It's inevitable that we will need to do laundry on the cruise and we are asking any Princess cruise passengers whether the onboard passenger laundry (particularly the clothes dryers) are efficient. We did laundry on a Princess cruise to Alaska and it was awful. It took half a day to wash and the dryers were worthless. Our cabin had rows of laundry strung across the room on cord for two days.

  1. I've done laundry on the Princess Star and Dawn.  Both were efficient enough.

I would go with the ship's service if you get some lousy machines!!

  2. Rather than waste the time doing your own laundry, I'd recommend using the ship's laundry service. Yes, it'll cost a little more than doing it yourself (although not substantially so), but you'll get your clothes back more quickly (usually same day - out in the morning, back in the evening) and the results and convenience will be well worth the additional cost involved.

  3. I went to Panama on the Princess line last year........We didn't need to do laundry because my wife packed like we were going on a safari!

    Laundry is available though...

This is a fun cruise to take

    Happy cruising

  4. I actually used to work for princess cruise lines, and I can say... yes splurge for the laundry service. how cold it was probably didn't help either, but look, after cruising a certain amount of times, you're entitled to free laundry service anyway!
