  1. Two huge problems I see right off the bat - use of Japanese titles.  If this is truely a Taekwondo School, the master is not a "renshi" and cannot claim the title for themselves anyway.  Sabumnim, perhaps, but never a renshi in Taekwondo - there is no such title.  Likewise, there are no "sensei's" in Taekwondo.

All of the info and the newsletter about the school looks good.  I'm glad you enjoy your training.  Keep at it.

By the way, the communty rules on Y/A! say you have to be 13 to ask questions.....  So, you're too young to be in here.

    EDIT:

Sorry, I forgot to mention #2...  They do not mention anywhere in the site what Kwan they belong to (assuming WTF, which is likely because of the AAU connection).

  2. Rating: 37

  3. I agree with most of the comments here.

I personally feel that the rank depends on the person.  There is a 11 year old black belt at our school that is lazy and her technique is terrible.  (she's been taking TKD for 7 years)There are yellow & green belts that can run circles around her.  Then on the other hand there are black belts that give 150% everytime.  If you put forth the effort and are deserving of your rank...Good for you!

I am confused on your instructors title...I always thought that TKD instructors were "instructors-Masters".  I know when I took Bushido years ago it was sensei....

  4. Well yeah, I agree with the guy a few comments up. I find it very annoying and rediculous that little children that can hardly do any damage or can break any boards should be given a black-belt. I totally disagree with this as a black-belt is an accomplishment. It shouldn't be awarded right away at eleven years old because that's too easy. I am a black-belt in TKD and I am quite a bit older than you so yeah i'd rate it low for that reason.

  5. In my club theres an 11 yr old black belt. But trust me, she deserved it. She can teach a class of little kids, can fight, do kata, shes fit, confident and well really good at what she does.

Anyway, it depends, how much fighting/basics do you do? Do you think the black belts DESERVE to be black belts? Do you guys get along and work well with each other? Are you fit? Are  you all good with your techniques?

  6. Canny! I like the fact you can train lots.  Most schools only have 2-3 classes :-)

  7. it's cool! who r u?

  8. too young to be a black belt

Edit - EXACTLY you're 11, point made, just the same you're too young to be on here. I wouldn't rate your school high, but if it's your passion I commend you for sticking to it.  Someday in the future you'll understand my statement, I don't expect you to now.

Edit- Breaking boards does nothing to denote skill in self defense, and is wasteful

  9. Ummmmmmmm.................................. great?
