The car I am going to get costs anywhere from $8000 to $13000 and I have about $4500 right now. My dad said he might cosign for me to finance one of these cars. My question is, if I have no credit and he has ok credit & filed forbankruptcy, what are my chances of getting approved? Especially if I am putting $5k on a $13k car? And what do you think the monlth payments/finance rate would be. Thanks,

  1. dont ever finance anything

  2. You have a better chance doing it on your own than with a co-signer that has a bankruptcy.  Go to your local largest Honda dealer you can find !!!!!at the end of the month!!!!!  Find a salesman that really wants to close a deal to hit his number.  Normally 15 or 20 units.  Normally there will be a board on the showroom that has names and units out for the month.  You have to get inside without talking to any other salesman, just tell them you have been helped.  Look at the board and see who needs a deal and ask for them, the more units they have out the better.  Good luck and try a few dealers, someone will get you on with you putting down almost half.
