has japanese theatre progressed through different types of theatre like western theatre has? like modern, post modern, theatre of the absurd, theatre of the oppressed, environmental/interactive theatre...i've been educated on many theatrical genres, but it doesn't necessarily appear that japanese drama has used theatre in the same way. so has it changed? is it used in the same manner that it originated in? how has japanese culture/society evolved it's theatre?
