  1. Lots of nice places in the 'Stoke, and great scenery. It puts you about halfway between Calgary and Vancouver.

  2. Banff Springs Hotel - reportedly haunted.

    Rimrock Hotel, Banff

  3. There's a great little cabin in Revelstoke.  It's part of the Smokey Bear campground.   There is a small fire place and comfy beds.  Pretty cheap too.

  4. theres always radium hot springs a little off the path but not too far........ the national park campground is cheap and clean

  5. Try Emerald Lake Lodge just east of Golden BC. Not busy and touristy like Banff or Lake Louise - we had a gorgeous room in a four suite cottage on the lake with a porch and a fireplace.  It was a long weekend in May and we got our third night free!  The lake is an emerald colour and absolutely beautiful.   You can also rent a canoe.   Here's the website - enjoy!

  6. There are all kinds of places to stay.  There are a ton of hotels and B & Bs on that road.  Revelstoke and Golden are at about the halfway point an there are lots of hotels in each for pretty much any budget.  There are all kinds of places in between civilization too, like the Three Valley Gap hotel just before Revelstoke or the Best Western at the top of the Roger's Pass.

Depending on when you go, there are good rates.  High season generally starts after the Victoria Day long weekend at the end of May.
