no one will answer the question. so ill ask firsth then explain

can this cause permant damage? if so what kind of damage?

(it happened years ago im curious its an what if thing that happned)

at 5 a mortar went of in my face (freak accident) and the doc said my eyes were irritaded and i needed to stay away from lights.

COULD that cause damage, what kind?

  1. ya it can obviously cause permanent damage.Go see a opthamalogist ASAP.The mortor must be hot right?


  2. If your eyes were irritated from the flash of the morter you probably got what is called "welder's burn". You had to stay away from bright lights so it can heal. I don't think you have any permanent damage. If this happened a few years ago your fine.

  3. You need to see an Ophthalmologist to get this answer.. This is an MD that specializes in diseases and injury to the eye. If your eye was injured at the time, it may still have effects now depending on how much of an impact it caused. If they were just irritated for a short time, the doctor probably didn't feel that it was a serious injury that would affect you in the long run.
