  1. Boy that's a lot of questions!

    1) I've been using PayPal for a number of years with no problems.  It's a very secure method to handle payment transactions.

    2) You can put in your listings that your items are for "local pickup only" meaning that you will not ship the item.  After you sell it (if you sell it), you would make arrangements to pickup up the item.  If you do this your sales success will be very low.  I do a fair amount of selling on eBay and most of my sales are out of state.

    3) You can list an item as long as you like. When you're setting up the listing, there's an option to set your listing time.  Most listings are 1 week.

    4) If you list an item with a "Buy Now" price, it will stay on your listing as long as there are no bids.  If someone places a bid, the buy now price goes away.

    5) You can delete a listing, as long as no one has bid on the item.  That also goes for editing your listing.  You can edit it (reduce the price, etc) as long as no one has placed a bid.

    6) Your chances of selling your items will be increased if you expand your market beyond your city and mail your items to people in different states. Also research similar items sold on ebay and price your item accordingly - "to sell".   I like placing a "Buy Now" price on my listings (if I'm confident in the value) because many people don't like waiting a week for the auction to end.  If you set a good buy now price, many times someone will take it.
