Hey, if i buy an iphone from US, can I use it in India?

Yes. The thing is.... don't buy it from an AT&T store. Go to an apple store or find one online.

Here's why: When the sales people at AT&T sell phones to people who activate on the AT&T network, they make money. Not off the purchase off the phone, but off the plan they sign up for.

When people come into the store who want to unlock the phone and activate it overseas, they are an annoyance. They take up our time, and deplete our inventory. Then when a legitamate customer who wants to activate with us comes to the store, we don't have iphones, because all the forign people come and buy them in large quantities.

This annoys the h**l out of me. If you want an iphone... great. Get one. But don't come into an AT&T store unless you want AT&T.
