  1. So garrsion admits that he/she participates in discrimination against homeschoolers? Sicko.

Someone should turn that person in-I hope you loose your license since you openly admit to discriminating against people based solely on the fact that they are homeschooled.

You are probably a racist too.

  2. There are a lot of people out there who don't understand.

There are union teachers and school systems afraid of the whole thing.

Studies from colleges show that when homeschool works it works quite well.

    This bothers some people

  3. At first I thought you meant something else, maybe you should have asked the question in a different way.

  4. Because they lack in social skillz...but it is nothing that cannot be solved by just simply going into society and adjusting. I think Mr. Garrison is just jealous that we don't have to go through the negative aspects of growing up in public schools like he did...>.<

  5. Oh sure... and I can tell from all the spelling errors that your homeschooling was a superior education to people who go to public schools.

I have known a lot of homeschooled people and I wouldn't hire a single one of them because I have NEVER met one without a SUB STANDARD EDUCATION...

Now, you can kid yourself all you want.. but from MY vantage point... homeschooled people have an even more marginal education than the graduates of the public school system

  6. I think it was just the way you worded the question.

Kids who are home educated  are not 'dumb'. Our 'sub-standard education' at home has meant that my brother passed public exams meant for 18/19 yr olds, and pass them in the top 0.5% of candidates across the state, even though he sat them just a couple of days after his 15th birthday. It also enabled me to gain a provisional offer of a place at university by the time I was 15yrs old.

Have to say though: this 'homeschooling's stupid and all homeschooled kids are freaks' attitude seems to be solely an American issue. In my country, kids who are home educated are seen as being independent, mature, responsible, resourceful and self-reliant.

  7. I didn't think you meant that at all, and I'm not exactly sure why you question was interpreted that way by some.

But, there are a lot of trolls on here, trying to annoy people. but they usually show their hand by saying things like they think homeschoolers are stupid and wants to know who agrees with them.

sorry you got raked like that, but I have been misinterpreted a time or two myself. it's no big deal.

  8. I am also a homeschooled child (or maybe not so much of a child- I'm 17), and I see where you're coming from. My parents homeschooled me for academic reasons, because they knew they could give me a better education than a school could. I have attended a school twice, and was really unimpressed by the academic standard. I was 11 at the time, and the school was about to send me up to 4th form (14 year olds) because I was so advanced. Unfortunately some people homeschool for solely religious reasons. Usually these persons have so many children they can't possibly cope with educating them effectively. Homeschooling gets tarred with the brush of these irresponsible people. As for non- homeschoolers being worried about the social state of non- schooled children, I have seen very many well adjusted, amiable homeschooled children who are much more able to cope with stress and socially demanding situations than teir schooled counterparts. Before you judge, please look at the huge social problems caused by schooled youth. Could schooling be part of the problem with these people? Homeschooled youth are, on average, far more mature.
