well kinda stupid question but i need help I went to my singing lesson yestuday and we were singing love potion number 9. thats great great song i am a L*****n and the natural words are in the seconds verse i told her that i was a flop with with chicks i have been disgraced since 1956 so i like the song even more because of that but last week he changed it to guys 1995 which makes me mad. and so i sung that last week this week i came in and i was like i memorized all the words and so he started singing with me that time and he said guys 1995 and i said chick 1956 and then he is like its now guys 95 and i was like but why not chicks 56? and then he went into you a girl and i dont think you want to be a flop with chicks and i didn't say anything. so next time i didn't sing anything the next time and then the third time i said chicks 56. I pissed me off and then when i was leaving he was like learn my version and i was quiet and slilently said ok. I don't know what to do. I am pissed but it was kinda funny when he said my version because he is g*y haha but anyway what do you think i should do??? I don't want to make a big deal that i am g*y but i don't want to say guys either!!!! so what should i do???

Um I cant sing worth shart so if YOU can, do what feels good and right... if you want to be one with the music... sing it his way... if you want to be true to your ideals... sing it your way... either way it is really YOUR decision.

In order for it to sound best it has to be sang the same by everyone, presenting your emotions in a calm but informative way won't be making a big deal of it, but go into the conversation with this understanding, if you're wanting people to be sensitive to your emotions you must first be sensitive to theirs. No matter how you or he sing(s) it, it won't change anything about either of you, it won't be anyone giving up, or anyone claiming something they are not, it will still just be a song. You have to do what's best for the performance and if he won't give in to you, you have to give in to him, other wise it'll be a terrible performance... Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

If he's g*y why would it matter if you sing it in a way that makes you sound like your g*y? IDK I don't think he'll care, just subtly mention that you prefer the version with "chicks" because you can relate to it.
