  1. from what i know is the following:

the setter:responsible for playing the ball on the second contact in every play. He/she will set to the hitters for the offensive attack. The setter always faces the left sideline, with one foot in front of the other (balance)

Outside hitter (strong side):Hits from the Left Front Position on the court. Blocks weak side hits and moves to assist the middle hitter on blocking middle hits. Again, there are defensive responsibilities

Weak-side Hitter (off setter): Hits and blocks from the Right Front Position on the court. Performs same responsibilities as the strong side hitter. However, the weak-side hitter is usually responsible for setting the ball if the setter plays the first ball over the net.

Middle Hitter: Hits and blocks from the Middle Front Position on the court. This position requires good footwork and endurance. The middle hitter is responsible for blocking opponent's middle hits, AND assisting in the blocking of outside and offside hits.

  2. Outside hitter= hits on the front left side of the court

Setter= sets in the front row to the middle, outside, and right side hitters

Libero= digs all the balls at the very back... they need to be quick to dig the hard driven hits.

Middle hitter = hits front row in the middle.. theyre usually tall and be able to block pretty well

Right side hitter = explains itself...

All the hitters have to block.

the right back covers the right corner and right side

the left back covers the left corner and left side

both left and right back players have to cover the middle of the court so the libero doesnt have to dive for it every time.

  3. well I play volleyball the front middle is your setter, the left and right fronts are your spikers and the 3 people in the back are there to get the ball to the setter or save or bump the ball!

  4. Okay, on the volleyball court, there are 6 positions

    it looks like this

    net-----------------------------------...

                  4                    3                         2

                5                    6                           1

Position 1 - this is the serving position if your team has the serve, another job is passing. This position does a lot of covering. Takes anything in the middle or on their own side.

Position 2 -  This is the setting position, their job is to set up the hitters if it be power middle or right side, or anyone in the back court. Sometimes this position needs to cover. defence before offence

Position 3-  this is the middle position this is usually the main blocker, or at least they go to either side to block on what ever side the hit is coming. General this person has a good vertical and a good block. And to cover when needed

Position 4 - this is the power hitter, their job is to hit, and cover when needed.

Position 5-  this is just another back row passer, their job is to ether pass or cover. Takes anything in the middle or in their side

Position 6- Once again back court passer, but this position covers deep into the back court, this position could be considers a specialized passer.

  5. Setter: Sets the ball to any of the three hitters..or to back row for a back row attack.

DS(Defensive Specialist): Plays back row and passes to the setter..and sometimes back row attacks.

Libero: Full time DS...can come in at any time and play back row..can come in for anyone...can serve for only one person during the game. Usually wears a different color shirt.

Outside hitter: Plays on the right side, on the net...assists middle blocker for middle hits, and spikes on right side, and blocks on right side.

Middle Hitter/blocker: Plays in the middle  on the net, spikes in the middle, moves to left and right to assist blocks. Usually very tall.

Left hitter: Plays on left side on the net, spikes on the left, blocks on the left.

  6. hope this helps...

    2. bumping: recieves from server up 2 setter

    3. setting: recieved from bumper 2 spiker

    4. spiking: recieved from spiker over the net 2 the digger

    5. digger: recieves from spiker gets 2 setter

    it then starts over again
